Audrea Lopez
GODLEY—Audrea Lopez, 41, of Godley, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, Nov. 9, 2024 at Morris Hospital.
Born March 21, 1983, in Joliet, Audrea Ellen was a daughter of Vanessa (Neely) Bortkewicz and Jerry Riggs. She was raised and educated in Dixon, TN and graduated from Hickman County High School with the class of 2000. Audrea later relocated to Godley, and previously worked as an assistant deli manager at Berkots Super Foods in Braidwood. She enjoyed spending time with her friends and with her family. Audrea dearly loved her son, Michael, and was a proud mother. She will be deeply missed by those that loved her.
Survivors include her parents: Vanessa (Rich) Bortkewicz, of Morris and Jerry (Barb) Riggs, of Wilmington; her maternal grandmother, Phyllis (the late Dean) Voyles, of Shelbyville, IL; her beloved son, Michael Hartzell Lopez, of Godley; six brothers and sisters: GeorgieAnna (the late Ralph) Brainard, of Bradley; Kristina (Alberto) Reyes, of Joliet; Jerry (Brianne) Riggs Jr., of Wilmington; Thomas Edward Kruger Jr., of Godley; Samantha Riggs and Cheianne Riggs, both of Wilmington; as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins, and several nieces and nephews.
Audrea was preceded in death by her grandparents: James and Audrey Neely and Harold and Hazel Riggs; one great-aunt, Pearl Adams and two aunts and one uncle: Harold "Buddy" Riggs Jr., Barbara Shafer, and Betty Hatfield.
Family will receive friends for a visitation at Baskerville Funeral Home, 700 E. Kahler Rd., in Wilmington on Friday, Nov. 15, 2024 from 4 to 7 p.m.
Cremation rites will be accorded following the visitation.
