Edith Freitag-Rausch

FLORIDA—Edith (Dee) Freitag-Rausch, 92, of Tarpon Springs, FL and formerly of Wilmington and Homewood, IL, passed away Saturday, Nov. 24, 2018.
Born Jan. 2, 1926 in Elmira, NY, Edith Marie was a daughter of Grant Lewis and Mary Elizabeth (Remphrey) Thorne.
Dee was the former wife of the late Henry W. Freitag, DDS. She lived in South Holland, IL from 1947 until 1953, and then in Homewood until moving to Wilmington in 1979. Dee was past president of the Harvey Opti-Mrs Club, charter member of Ingall's Memorial Hospital Auxilliary, past director of Thornton Township Republican Club, and past vice president of Southwestern Republican Club.
Survivors include four children: Roger (Georgia) Freitag, of Wilmington; Rodney (Rhonda) Freitag, of The Woodlands, TX; Dawn McBride, of Naples, FL and Dana Freitag, of Tarpon Springs, FL; grandchildren: Erika (Mark) Butler, of Hollywood, FL; Ragan (John) Pattison and Morgan Freitag, both of Chicago; Leslie Harnish (Jamison) Savage, of Boquete, Republic of Panama; Chris (Lana) Freitag, of The Woodlands, TX; Greg Freitag, of Inverness, FL and Jeff (Elizabeth) Freitag, of Evansville, IN; great-grandchildren: Jamison, Peter Von, Hannah Jolie, Grace, Grant, Brandon, Evelyn and Eleanor, and several nieces.
Dee was preceded in death by her parents,  one daughter, Teena in infancy; one sister, Carolyn and one brother, Grant.
A private family visitation and funeral service was held at Baskerville Funeral Home in Wilmington, and entombment followed in Woodlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum in Joliet.
