Jim Wilson

BRACEVILLE—Jim Wilson, 68 of Braceville, and formerly Frankfort, IL died at his home on May 29, 2023. Born Jan. 31, 1955 in Joliet, James Warren is a son of Marlene (Mankowski) Smith of Frankfort and the late James Warren Wilson, Sr. He was raised in the Frankfort area and graduated from Lincolnway High School with the Class of 1973.
Jim worked as a carpenter and owned and operated his own construction business for numerous years. He was an excellent mechanic; loved racing and watching NASCAR, and took great pleasure in fishing and bowling.
Survivors include his mother, Marlene; two daughters: Jennifer (David) Greggain of Coal City and Katherine Winterrowd of Braceville; five grandchildren: Emma (Collin) Erickson, Evan Greggain, Brantley Smallwood, and Cheyenne and Rae Lynn Latham; one great grandchild expected; two brothers: Richard (Susan) Wilson of Oak Brook, IL and Thomas Wilson of Woodridge, IL; aunt, Diana (Frank) Jenkins of Morris, and Raymond (Joyce) Mankowski of Tinley Park, IL; one nephew, Kyle Wilson and numerous nieces and nephews.
Jim was preceded in death by his father, James W. Wilson, Sr.; step-father, Dudley Smith, and one uncle, Gerald Mankowski.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
The family welcomes friends for a memorial visitation on Saturday, June 10, 2023 between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 noon at Reeves Funeral Home, 75 N. Broadway (one block north of Illinois Route 113) in Coal City.
