Wilmington Public Library is thrilled to announce its latest offering, Kanopy, an innovative streaming service designed to enrich the library's digital landscape with entertainment and educational resources.
Wilmington Library cardholders are now granted access to a remarkable array of over 30,000 films, television shows, documentaries, educational courses, and more, far exceeding the library's existing collection of approximately 7,500 movies.
To use Kanopy, patrons need to create an account using their email address. Library card information can be added at a later stage. Each Wilmington Library cardholder is allotted 25 tickets per month, that reset on the first day of each month.
For families looking to maximize their usage of Kanopy, it's beneficial to have multiple library cards within the household.
Tickets are used to access various content on Kanopy. The viewing period will vary, depending on the title, number of tickets required, and the duration of the viewing period. The system allows users to manage their access based on their content preferences and viewing habits.
For younger audiences, Kanopy offers a special section called Kanopy for Kids. This section includes movies, PBS programming, and books read aloud, all of which do not require tickets.
