LuAnn Mahalik

WILMINGTON—LuAnn Tidmore Mahalik, 59, of Wilmington, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, Jan. 20, 2018 at her home.
Born Sept. 20, 1958 in Joliet, LuAnn was a daughter of Marjorie (nee Tatro) and Hubert H. Tidmore Jr. She was raised and educated in Wilmington, and graduated from Wilmington High School with the class of 1976. LuAnn’s employment began with Oasis Drive-In, and went on to include Diamond International and Personal Products. In recent years, LuAnn became known for her creative custom cookies, which commemorated countless special events and occasions.
On July 28, 1982 LuAnn married Mark Mahalik and together they made their home and raised their daughter in Wilmington. LuAnn was an  extraordinary wife and mother, who was loved by everyone. She was a woman of unsurpassed integrity and character, who had a kind word for everyone who came through her door. LuAnn’s larger than life personality brightened the room when she entered, and she will truly be remembered as a friend to all.   
Survivors include her husband of 35 years, Mark; her daughter and son-in-law: Allie and Tim Stevens, of Joliet; siblings: Marsha (William) Sanders, of Texas; Hubert “Trey” H. Tidmore III and Joseph (Jill) Tidmore, both of Wilmington and Tom (Claudia) Tidmore, of Plainfield; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: LeEtta Michaels, of Michigan; Gerald Mahalik, of Oswego; Lawrence (Verna) Mahalik, of Joliet; Louis (Janet) Mahalik, of New Mexico; Cynthia (Richard) Pirc, of Florida; Marcia Widloe, of Shorewood; Deanna (Jay) Ruettiger and David (Tia) Mahalik, both of Florida and Lisa Mahalik, of Joliet; one aunt, Ruth Ann (the late Joe) Herkel, of Georgia and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
LuAnn was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers-in-law: Daniel and Stephen Mahalik.
A memorial visitation will be held Thursday, Jan. 25, 2018 between the hours of 4 and 8 p.m. at Baskerville Funeral Home, 700 E. Kahler Rd. in Wilmington. A private family Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Rose Catholic Church in Wilmington.
