Maridean Barton

DWIGHT— Maridean (Coartney) Barton, 91, of Dwight, passed away peacefully   at Heritage Woods on Tuesday, April 9, 2019,  with her family by her side.
She was born on July 10, 1927 in Charleston, to Irvin Clem and Jessie (nee Roberts) Coartney. She grew up in Southern Illinois before residing in Wilmington and Coal City. Maridean married Richard “Bud” Barton Sr. on Dec. 9, 1950 in Wilmington where they settled and went on to raise their four children.
She enjoyed refinishing furniture, jigsaw and crossword puzzles, and traveling. She was also a member of the Wii Bowling League at Heritage Woods where she resided. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Maridean is survived by her three daughters, Susan Barton, of Pontiac, Denise (Bob) Brown, of Diamond and Ann (Kevin) McClean, of Coal City; 13 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren with one on the way and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, “Bud”; her son Rich Jr. and daughter in law Patricia Barton; seven sisters and seven brothers; and her grandson Patrick Clifford.
Creation rites have been accorded.
Visitation will be Saturday, April 13, 2019  from 9 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 10:30 a.m. at the Ferrari Funeral Chapel, 1044 Ferrari Drive, Coal City. Inurnment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Wilmington.
Memorials in Maridean's name may be made to Hospice of Kankakee Valley, Heritage Woods of Dwight, or the American Heart Association.
