A Rider who cared results in memorial donation
THE Wilmington Moose Riders presented a $4,025 check on Friday to the Reed-Custer Elementary School - Lunch Balances in memory of one of their fallen riders, Juan Duran. Accepting the check (from left) are Michelle Headrick, RCES food service manager, and school principal Heather Faletti. At right are Sandra Ault, president of the Wilmington Moose Riders and Chantel Berg, past president of the Wilmington Moose Riders. The $4,025 was raised in a last ride fund-raiser held on Duran’s birthday Aug. 31. Duran, who died unexpectedly July 13 at his Godley home, was a supporter of veterans and children’s causes. The donation in his memory was agreed upon with his twin daughters Selena and Sabrina Duran, who attended the school district growing up. The donation will be used to pay unpaid lunch balances for RCES families experiencing financial difficulties. RCES is so grateful to the Duran Family for the incredibly generous donation.
