Susan E. Lindsey
CUSTER PARK—Susan E. Lindsey, “Gal,” 81, of Custer Park, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 31, 2024 at her home. Born on Aug. 5, 1943 in St. Louis, MO, she was the daughter of Jarvis and Marie (nee Alms) Nolan. She married Basil L. Lindsey and together they made their life and raised their family in Custer Park. After 30 years of employment as a packer she retired from Personal Products/Johnson-Johnson in Wilmington. She was a member of Island City Baptist Church in Wilmington. She enjoyed crocheting, planting flowers and making home made candies. Most of all Susan loved spending time with her family.
Surviving are her daughter, Terri L. (Charly) Wilson, of Gardner; son, Thomas L. Lindsey; seven grandchildren: Jeremy, Nichole, Matt, Adam, Lindsey, Brandy and Tommy Jr.; nine great-grandchildren; sisters: Patricia (Gerald) Scheidt, of Cairo, IL; Judy (Bill) Guthrie, of McLeansboro, IL; Norma (Melvin) Wike, of Indiana; Phyllis Sampson and Carol (Phil) Adams; best friend, Louis Scott; special niece, Tanya Gurnitz and many numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Jarvis and Marie Nolan; husband, Basil L. Lindsey (7-6-2013); daughter Tina L. Stewart; brother, Phillip Nolan; and sister, Sharon Zabasnik.
Cremation rites have been accorded. Arrangements have been entrusted to R.W. Patterson Funeral Home & Crematory.
