Virginia Banham
COAL CITY—Virginia “Ginny” Banham, 97, of Coal City, passed away Sunday, Jan. 31, 2021 at Regency Care of Morris.
Born May 7, 1923 in Delavan, IL, Virginia Noreen was a daughter of Neil and Helen (Baker) Neblock. She was raised and educated in McLean County, and most recently resided in Coal City before transitioning to Regency Care in Morris.
Ginny was a member of Ritchey United Methodist Church; was involved with T.O.P.S. for many years, and enjoyed belonging to the Red Hat Society. She golfed and bowled on leagues throughout years past, and took pleasure in walking, as well as dancing.
Surviving are two daughters, Alyce (James) Scheel, of Gardner and Suzan (Robert) Hendry, of Morris; favorite daughter-in-law, Vicky Terrell, of Morris; 16 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews, as well as her special friend, Stacy Morales.
Ginny was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Charles Banham (1995); son, Donnie Terrell; grandson, Ronnie and five brothers and one sister.
Per Ginny’s wishes, cremation rites have been accorded and there will be no services.
Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Ginny’s memory to the Coal City Food Pantry.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the staff and caregivers at Regency Care of Morris for their extraordinary care over the past two years.
