Wilma Mitchell

BRAIDWOOD—Wilma “Joyce” Mitchell, (nee Elliott), 77, of Braidwood, IL, passed away Sunday, Jan. 14, 2018 at Heritage Village in Kankakee, IL.  
Born Oct. 3, 1940 in Mt. Vernon, IL, she was the daughter of James and Irene (nee Caldwell) Elliott. Joyce married Lowell “Gene” Mitchell on Nov. 6, 1971 in Joliet, IL.  She was a member of Zoar Community Church in Reddick and the Red Hat's Society.  
Surviving are her foster son, John Hall of Lansing, TN; daughters, Maureen (Tony) Brown, of Braidwood and Joyce (Saul) Crisostomo, of Joliet, IL; sons: Dallas Mitchell, of Mesa, AZ and Marty Lee Mitchell, of Benton, IL; 10 grandchildren: Patrick (Brooke) Brown, Jennifer (Cameron) Keto, Juanita Crisostomo, Nadia Crisostomo, Jason Crisostomo, Christina Briggs, Lowell Mitchell, Billy Mitchell, Jody Mitchell and Janette Mitchell; special great-grandchildren: Addison Brown, Reese Brown and Sofia Ash and several other great-grandchildren; brother, Jack (Carol) Elliott, of Lena, IL; sister, Carolyn (John) Kemp, of Belle Rive, IL and special friends, Bonnie and David Kuiken.  
Preceding her in death were her parents and her husband, Gene.  
Cremation rites have been accorded. Services will be private. Inurnment will be in Jordan Chapel Cemetery in Dix, IL.
