The Coal City softball team got a strong start from pitcher Zoe Wills on Monday during a 7-4 opening regional win over Morris.
As a result, the Lady Coalers moved on to the LaSalle-Peru Regional last night (Tuesday) to face Joliet Catholic Academy (23-8). If they won, they’ll play LaSalle-Peru (18-11) or Kankakee (11-8) on Saturday for the championship.
Wills (6-6) went 7.0 innings, gave up four runs on eight hits while fanning four to defeat Morris.
