BAHS preps for summer months

The Braidwood Area Historical Society (BAHS) is prepping for an exciting few months ahead.

The veteran’s display at the depot museum will be up and ready for folks to take a look starting on May 5.

The depot will be open that day from noon to 3 p.m. during the Red Carpet Corridor festival, and museum goers can take a peek at this model plane, built by the late Richard A. Seilke, a Braidwood resident and Navy veteran.

The depot has unveiled its planned activities for spring and summer, including participation in the Red Carpet Corridor festival, Memorial Day, Garage Sale Days, and the Annual Car Show, set for Aug. 18 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. The depot is also seeking volunteers for the Red Carpet Corridor, for spring cleanup, and for a host of other activities.

Interested parties can call Carida Davis at the depot, at 815-458-9010.
