DAR Good Citizen named

RCHS SENIOR GRADUATE Alyssa Faurot was presented with the DAR Good Citizen Award by Midewin Prairie Chapter Citizenship Chair Roberta Neumann.

Midewin Prairie Chapter National Society Daughters of the American Revolution recently named Alyssa Faurot as the DAR Good Citizen for Reed-Custer High School.
DAR Good Citizens are based on scholarship, leadership and service to school and community.
One graduating senior may be honored. The student must meet grade standards and submit letters of recommendation, as well as an essay, “Our American Heritage and Our Responsibility for Preserving It.”
Alyssa, the daughter of Michaelanne and John Faurot of Braidwood, participated in madrigals, Student Council (senior year president), softball, school musicals, homework tutor and Thespians.
She is a member of the National Honor Society. In the community she has been a Vacation Bible School guide and a baby-sitter. She has been a food pantry volunteer, participating in Box City to collect food.
Faurot will attend Olivet Nazarene University this fall to study elementary education and special education.
Faurot was awarded a certificate, scholarship and NSDAR pin by Midewin Prairie Chapter Citizenship Chair Roberta Neumann.
