Five-day detour planned for Coal City crossing
THE RAILROAD CROSSING on Division Street (Illinois 113) in Coal City will close Monday for repairs by BNSF workers. During the five-day closing, traffic will be detoured onto other streets where there are crossings. Motorists are being asked to use alternative routes as traffic backups are being expected.

nt of Transportation is warning motorists that Illinois 113 will be closed for repairs at the BNSF Railroad crossing in Coal City on Monday, Oct. 7, for approximately five days.
A posted detour will direct eastbound Illinois 113 traffic to use Broadway Street, North Street and First Avenue. Westbound Illinois 113 traffic will use Fifth Avenue, North Street and Broadway Street.
Motorist can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area and be prepared for slow and stopped traffic. To avoid the work area, when feasible, use of alternate routes should be considered.
Drivers are urged to pay close attention to changed conditions and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits, refrain from using mobile devices and be alert or workers and equipment.
