Peanuts gang comes to life in middle school musical

Charlie Brown, his beloved dog Snoopy and the entire Peanuts gang will come to life in Coal City Middle School’s production of the musical classic, “You’re A Good Man Charlie Brown.”
Rehearsals are underway for the musical that will be available for streaming into homes Nov. 20-22.
The Broadway musical is based on the popular Peanuts comic strip created by Charles M. Schulz and will feature vignettes and production numbers featuring some of the comic’s favorite characters including Lucy, Linus and Peppermint Patty.
In response to the on-going pandemic and restrictions for in-person performances, the musical will be filmed in advanced and made available for in-home viewing.
Director Jack Micetich has selected 23 students to fill the roles of the beloved cartoon characters. The students are divided into two casts—yellow and blue.
Eighth grader Mason Natyshok will lead the yellow cast in the role of Charlie Brown and Bella Byers will appear as his little sister, Sally.
Rounding out the yellow cast is Katie Huston, Lucy; Jordan Olson, Schroeder; Olivia Sage, Peppermint Patty; Logan Hausman, Linus; Bobby Stoudt, Snoopy; Dakota Clubb, Woodstock; Kyah Hawkins, Marcie, and Bella Bartholomew and Bridget Feeney.
Alex Carlson has been cast as Pig Pen in both casts.
The blue cast is led by seventh grader Dane Noffsinger in the role of Charlie Brown, Brody D’Orazio will appear as his dog, Snoopy and Melody Kinder is his sister, Sally.
Fellow blue cast members include Kylee Kennell, Lucy; Ethan Donnelly, Schroeder; Eliana Chernesky, Peppermint Patty; Theo Fritz, Linus; Caroline Childers, Woodstock; D’Arcy Ness, Marcie, and ensemble members Stana Milinkovic and Riley Walker.
