Seven area wrestlers advance to Final Four
Seven of 18 local wrestlers have made it through the first day of the IHSA state wrestling tournament, advancing after two wins each.
Coal City has six wresters still in the hunt for a state title, advancing to Friday's semifinal round where a victory would give them a entry into the state champion match on Saturday night.
Luke Munsterman (138), Brody Widlowski (150), Aiden Kenney (157), Mason Garner (165), Brock Finch (175) and Cade Poyner (215) are six of the 14 Coaler state qualifiers still vying in the win bracket. Wilmington's Logan Van Duyne (190) is also in the Final Four after rallying from a 4-0 deficit to win his second match 5-4.
