The Reed-Custer junior varsity boys basketball team placed seventh in the JV division of the Braidwood Shootout on Thursday.
On the day, the Comets wound up going 2-2 overall, picking up wins over Woodland and Dwight, but falling to Manteno and Newark.
“I felt like we competed well,” said JV coach Gavin Johnston. “We only had 13 guys for four games. We were missing a lot of kids for various reasons.”
Still, Reed-Custer persevered, picking up two wins with a roster made up of mostly freshmen (seven total).
