A series of training sessions between municipal attorneys and the village of Coal City’s Planning and Zoning Board has led to changes in the rules that govern public comment during open meetings.
Village attorney Mark Heinle reported the sessions brought to light a number of topics from the statutory authority and jurisdiction of the town’s advisory bodies, to sign regulations and potential zoning regulations in regards to recently approved state law regarding recreational cannabis.
